Choose Your Sewing Machine

The Brother SQ9285 is a great starter sewing machine. It has a lot of features that are perfect for beginners, like an automatic needle threading system, a large back-lit LCD display, and a variety of built-in stitches. It's also a very reliable machine, so you don't have to worry about it breaking down on you.

Janome is another great brand of sewing machines. They're known for their high quality and durability. If you're looking for a more advanced sewing machine, a Janome might be a good option for you.

Available at Walmart, Jo Ann's and Amazon

Later, If you decide that sewing is for you,  I suggest you purchase a serger.

A serger is a great addition to any sewing enthusiast's arsenal. It can be used for a variety of tasks, including seaming, finishing edges, and hemming. It can also be used to create decorative stitches.

When you receive your machine, you will see  there is a video that comes with your machine. Watch the video and and get to know your machine. Read the instruction manual. Anything you do not understand I will go over with you.

Different stitches are for different things, blind hem, rolled hem, decorative stitches (satin stitch, Chain Stitch). Your machine comes with many different attachments. You should know how to use them to make your experience easier.

I would like to see some fabric where you experimented with the different stitches.
